"The Milvia Son blog (URL to follow) provides some backstory on the band Back Magic, two guys presumably in the Chicago area who perform under aliases, tapping out basement guitar/drums canticles with grave sincerity and unforced atmosphere to spare. Clearly they understand punk (check the stomping “Peace Police” or their mid-tempo cover of Crass’ “Do They Owe Us A Living”) but there is a homebred darkness about much of what plays out across these two sides that places this firmly in the Real People camp, with deep concerns about society and death that don’t often come across in sane music with such pained honesty. Pretty cool, not-for-everyone sort of lost missives from one story below the earth. Play it next to the Pete & Royce reissue and you might start coughing up mildew. 250 copies, comes with numbered insert and sticker. Paste-on sleeve. (http://www.milviasun.blogspot.com)"
